Hey Parents,
We kicked off our series ” Feel the Burn” last night as we talked about the pursuit of Sex. We started off the night by being honest about how our culture idolizes and glamorizes sex and physical intimacy in a relationship. Our heart for the night was to challenge our students that physical intimacy will not deliver the satisfaction and value they are hoping it will but only Jesus.
Here are a few questions to follow up the night.
1. What did you think about Edge saying that our culture glamorizes or idolizes sex, do you think that is true for your generation?
2. How do you think you have pursued value from the opposite sex?
3. So Justin asked the question: Are you pursuing the created or the creator for value? is that a challenging question to you?
Our hope is that this was a starting point to questions students are asking about how far is too far? and is it really that bad? We wanted to challenge our students first with the question of, what are you seeking your value from?
One note for January 22nd.
We will be having a gathering at our troy campus where all high school students will be coming together to hear Pam Stenzel talk about sex. This night is open to all high school students and any parent. Pam is a nationally known speaker on the topic of sex.
We will meet at Genesis (309 N Main street, Royal Oak) at 6pm as a campus and take a bus or you can drive directly!
